Das Kloster Weltenburg ist eine Benediktinerabtei in Weltenburg, einem Ortsteil von Kelheim an der Donau. Es liegt oberhalb des Donaudurchbruchs in einer Donau-Schlinge. Die Abtei gehört der Bayerischen Benediktinerkongregation an.

Weltenburg Abbey (Kloster Weltenburg) is a Benedictine monastery in Weltenburg in Kelheim on the Danube in Bavaria, Germany.
The abbey is situated on a peninsula in the Danube, on the so-called "Weltenburg Narrows" or the "Danube Gorge". The monastery, founded by Irish or Scottish monks in about 620, is held to be the oldest monastery in Bavaria.

The monastery courtyard is surrounded by Baroque buildings, the highlight of which is the abbey church, dedicated to Saint George, which was built by the Asam Brothers between 1716 and 1739.

The abbey was dissolved in 1803 during the secularization of Bavaria.
Weltenburg Abbey brewery (Weltenburger Klosterbrauerei) is by some reckonings the oldest monastery brewery in the world, having been in operation since 1050, although the title is disputed by Weihenstephan Abbey. Their Weltenburger Kloster Barock Dunkel was given the World Beer Cup award in 2004 as the best Dunkel beer in the world.

A fine warm delicate landscape with nice green tones and soft lighting.
Very sharp, maybe oversharped, and nicely composed.
Being a dull day, you managed well with lighting.

Hi Georg

Well composed, with good sharpness & reasonable colour & lighting. Perhaps I'd rope off the brightly illuminated, & saturated section, at right, invert it, & boost brightness & contrast, in the rest of the image, as well as adding a little yellow & red, to warm the blue tinged image. Tfs & have a great week!

The beauty of the German land is very well seen here Georg,loks like very peaceful and historic place.

Very nice landscape. I like the hint of HDR tones in the foreground, they contrast well with the softer background. Very peaceful feeling to this shot, well done.

Actually this looks a bit noisy to me and the building could be a bit brighter, too. The landscape and the environment is nice though, you note is informative. TFS!

Hallo Georg,

sei mir bitte nicht böse, aber hier finde ich die TE_Version doch etwas passender..hier hat man aufgrund der starken Nachbeabearbeitung eher den Eindruck ein Bild zu betrachten..

Fantastique vue, la belle église au toit rouge, avec ces reflet sur l'eau, le rayons sur la parie verte, la belle végétation et ce ciel de couleur un peu rosée, grandiose.
