[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is my job....I design bicycle seats that are safe for male riders (along with other bicycle products). This shot shows one of our happy dealers having his male blood flow measured while riding to show the difference between our design and the competitors. The happy lady next to him is his wife and she is holding the Transcutaneous Oxygen Monitor which shows indirectly the penile blood flow while he is riding.

He asked for the photo to be taken and will display a banner in his bike shop.

Photographically this was a bit challenging. There was low light so I used F2.8 which meant only one of the subjects was in good focus. I used the shot with his wife in focus then cloned him in from another shot. The conversion to black and white was in the channel mixer and worked for both subjects but not the Oxygen Monitor so that was redone using a different channel and cloned in.

Hi Roger

A superb dual b&w portrait of the happy couple with fantastic lighting contrasts & good sharpness & dof. You've captured the exuberance well here. Tfs!

NO KIDDING?? How COOL is that! I am training for the MS150 and this weekend bought me a hybrid to ride, complete with the FEMALE designed seat! The photo is hysterical! She seems so happy!! HAHA! I guess so! I'm a bike NUT! Next to camera equip, a bike is the COOLEST present anyone could get! I gotta pass this on to my spin teacher! Oh yes, BW works great here, color would have too!! The guy seems a little out of focus, but I imagine he won't care! HAHA!
Thanks for the laugh Roger!!
Linda

Hi Roger... first of all, VERY interesting to get an insight into what you do .. what an interesting career! Great job on that.
The photo .. together with your note, this tells a great/funny story. They both seem very happy with the seat. Nice B&W tones throughout. Great job on this.

Hello,

superbe image, deux très beaux portrait, les tons sont très doux, le NB colle paraitement, des beaux sourrier, génaile image.

bravoe t maitié

An unusual and creative shot and a lot of fun, there is a real quirkiness to this. Nice to get a glimpse into your day-to-day work!

If I had a criticism of this it would be the fact that it is cropped (or never included) the lower part of the scene. In my personal opinion the pedalling feet and the structure of the bicycle prop is important - and a more inclusive vertical frame would give the shot a better balance and compositional feel ...

Nice diagonal flow through his eyes, her eyes, and to the raised thumb.

Hello Roger,

An excellent couple portrait with good lighting and tones. They look very happy. I agree with Vlad. I have never guessed that I am looking at two photos in one, too. I really appreciate your creative shot accompanied by a funny story.

Many thanks for this joyful picture and best regards,
Eungbong

Hi, Roger -
I had been wondering what it is you do for a living, with all of the exotic travel you have been doing - very unusual and interesting! This photo gets points just for having such a strange energy - the wife holding this monitor with her enthusiastic smile and raised thumb is both bizarre and uplifting. You did well with the focus quality under the circumstances.

Ciao..magnifica foto

Maybe you could send me a seat for my bike - bl00dy thing is never comfortable after 30 mins in the saddle!!!!

I like this shot - a nice touch of humour in it.. Well set up with the lighting and good sharp focus on their faces..
