Hi, Greg Nice shot you must be hoisted up in a crane to get this close. I think the tongue is rough to adapt itself to the thorny acacia tree in Africa their favorite diet. Photo is sharp and even humorous. Cheers. Please do not go near the lion or bear tongue. Cheers.

Hello Greg,
I just HAD to open this from the smaller image just to see what kind of creature's tongue that was. I thought maybe it was a snake or something . . . and that tongue looks almost porous, interesting and eek! A clever moment captured . . . though the giraffe should probably not be fed these "human treats." :O)
