Staircase and guardrail by the waterfront in Wellington on a fine winter afternoon.
I shot this because the strong geometric forms created by the lines and shadows caught my attention as I was walking past. Fortunately I had my camera handy.
This was shot with my pocket camera, a Canon Ixus 970IS (aka Powershot SD890IS). I used RAW mode - thanks to CHDK,
PP in CS4: Crop from 4:3 to 3:2, channel mixer to B&W, levels and curves, slight vignette for effect, and a contrast boost applied to a selection made of the foreground. |
