Common Blue

Enallagma cyathigerum - Common Blue Damselfly

Also shot in Croatia the same day when the gulls (Fight!) and this one (Damselflies Mating) on TN.

I used my 35-135 with 2xTC to take the shot.
I also used flash but I think it didn't make a distracting effect to the picture. I hope you like it!

Best regards,
Andor

Andor,
Wonderful capture, whit lovely colors and details. Amazing light and POV.

Hi Andor,

Impressive macro capture of the Common Blue damselfly! It is quite hard to shot this insect in this nice position, but you have proven it...well done!
The sharpness and well-chosen POV with shallow DOF, collectively show great results here. The colors are very natural. I like the contrast between the blue colored damselfly and teh rich green colored leaf.
Great composition!

Have a nice Sunday.

Hi Andor,
Impressively clear shot, I love the rich colours in this scene. These insects always intrigue me, but I never get to see them in real life so it's great to be able to sit here and view your photo. Good use of the zoom, the flash looks like it worked well in a subtle sort of way. A shot to be proud of.

TFS,
Scott.

Hello Andor,
Perfect composition with diagonal position of bug and leaf.
Clear image and good using of light

Hello Andor,
A fine diagonal composition of the rare blue damselfly, a rarely seen species where I live. The slender tubular abdomen is sharp and well featured, the blue specks on the compound eyes are striking. The 1/200 seconds setting is fast enough to prevent motion blur, but I probably would open up the aperture a teensy bit to defocus the busy background. All in all, a wonderful posting. I know how difficult it is to photograph insects. Good day!

Hi Andor!
nice diagonal composition, the leaf is great for the contrast...and nicely captured shadow...

Hi Andor

Superb sharpness & shallow dof on the long long tailed damselfly with the light blue eyes & tail tip. Excellent framing & colour. Tfs!
