We do meet again..)))
There is a lot of things, I like in that photo.
First the composition, symetrical lines then the handles surrounded by those two other, L shape pieces of wood, forming the lock, and create that half square in the middle of the image. Yet it follow that "rule of third" the vertical space between the two doors add depht to the image.
As exposure it's fine, but I find it a bit too bright. The way I see it, it's a high contrast light situation. When I look at the shadow areas (excluding the vertical space between the two doors), the tones of the wood in those areas, are dark to start with, so you should be able to see faint details. At this contrast, the color of the wood should be 3 stop under. But hey we're not going to split hair in two, it's pretty close...just a little bright..)))) I don't find that the white matt help either. It's too contrasty, and don't work to bring out the image and compete too much with it. Anyway it's my point of view..))

Color balance is right, you're greys looks good too. I've done a workshop on it, to show you and other view.,,.mine...))) Hope you'll like.

When I started posting on this site, I would have seen this shot as quite boring but, as a sign of my development, I now appreciate the close-up of textures, the patterns of natural materials and wonderful nuances of colour and tone.
