[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Kembang Sepatu is the word of Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian Language) for Hibiscus.

This picture was taken in the morning after drizzle, may be that's why it looks a lot more fresh than just being dewed. I was playing with my Sigma Lens to get the detail. This is the same hibiscus as in 'Kembang Sepatu #1', but taken from different angle. Which one do you like most?

Crop and resize.

NOTE : I'd be very happy if there's someone who'd like to give this picture a frame ;)

Wikipedia :
Hibiscus (pronounced /hɨˈbɪskəs/ or /haɪˈbɪskəs/) is a genus of plants with member species often noted for their showy flowers and commonly known as hibiscus or less widely as rosemallow or flor de Jamaica. This large genus includes about 200–220 species of flowering plants in the family Malvaceae native to warm, temperate, subtropical and tropical regions throughout the world. The genus also includes both annual and perennial herbaceous plants, as well as woody shrubs and small trees.

The leaves are alternate, simple, ovate to lanceolate, often with a toothed or lobed margin. The flowers are large, conspicuous, trumpet-shaped, with five or more petals, ranging from white to pink, red, orange, purple or yellow, and from 4-18 cm broad. The color of the Hibiscus grows darker as it ages. The fruit is a dry five-lobed capsule, containing several seeds in each lobe, which are released when the capsule splits open at maturity.

Many species are grown for their showy flowers or used as landscape shrubs. Hibiscus is also a primary ingredient in many herbal teas.

Boa noite Imelda,
Nice capture from this nice flower and beautiful droplets. Good POV and colors.

Welcome back! Out of the two, I prefer this one - I think the crop and angle are more unusual and I like the way we get the proper depth of field efeect here from the curves of the petals.

The dew of course helps in the respect and adds a nice element to the shot - possibly makes it for me. The subtle pink veins in the petals are also a lovely feature.

Hi Imelda,
Nice composition of this nice flower and beautiful droplets. soft colors TFS

Hi Imelda,

I like this view of your hibiscus better too. The crop you chose works well to give emphasis to the repetition of water droplets. I think a smaller aperture would help by giving a bit more DOF and keeping more of the lovely flower in focus.

Warm regards,
Werner
