Kananaskis

Kananaskis, just an hour west of Calgary, is quite an amazing natural environment. The only real "development" is a hotel complex in Kananaskis village. The rest of the hundreds of square miles is open space for hiking, canoeing, biking, or just picnicking.
RP: I cleaned up the sensor dust. The original image is incredibly crisp, but I wasn't able to find any way to save an 800 pixel version that retained the details. Aspen trees (in the fg) have small leaves that quake in the slightest breeze, so there is an incredible level of detail. I tried various versions of resizing and USM. I even played with different versions of jpg compression. A 1000 pixel version is very crisp, but 800 pixels is awful. |

Hi Mike,
I have to say that I am not so sure about this photo. The three largest trees, which became a sort of focal point caused by the road are pretty centered. You probably would be better of cropping part of the left. I also feel that the effect of teh CP filter is too strong and created an uneven coloration in the sky. Better to turn it open just a bit.

Niek
