Spa ville d'eau.
Spa (Spa in Walloon) is a municipality of Belgium located in the Walloon Region in the province of Liege.
Known for its thermal waters, probably since Roman times, spa began to take off in the sixteenth century when the reputation of water led to a real trade. The term spa has become a generic term for hydrotherapy in English and some other languages [1].
Spa has become a rendezvous run of European nobility, the Emperor Joseph II (after his visit in 1781) called it the "Café of Europe". And indeed at Spa has become the first modern casino, Redoubt, on the initiative of co-mayors of Leau and Gerard Lambert Xhrouet. Among those who stayed at Spa, retain Victor Hugo, Czar Peter the Great, the royal family of Belgium, Casanova, Alexandre Dumas pere, Meyerbeer. Social life in the eighteenth century to the Spa is widely presented in the movie Barry Lyndon by Stanley Kubrick.
The Romantic painter Édouard Delvaux was director of the Drawing School of Spa, the city where he died.
In March 1918, the German army installed his headquarters operations. That's where the German strategists unleashed the last major German offensive of the First World War: the Michael Offensive. The Spa Conference was held from 5 to 16 July 1920 and set the Russo-Polish border along the Curzon Line.
After a period of slumber in the late 1950s, spas restarts more beautiful with superb facilities Annette and Lubin, atop the hill overlooking the city. A funicular allows access.
The surroundings of Spa are conducive to walking in the High Ardennes, known as the Ardennes blue, home to many water bodies such as Lake and Lake Warfaaz Gileppe. |

What a lovely presentation introducing great architecture! The green colored grass (in the FG) gives great contrast to the colors of the building. Great details are shown. I especially like the sharpness and POV in the shot. The colors are perfectly natural.
