[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I have been watching a wasps nest grow under the deck above the patio all Summer. The wasps have become accustomed to my presence and pretty much ignore me, knowing I mean them no harm. This is the first time I witnessed one feeding from the hummingbird feeder. Standing on the deck one mourning I felt a sharp pain in the bottom of my bare foot. Quickly raising it, I saw that one of the wasps had it's stinger embedded in the arch. It flew away and I noticed three pairs of eyes watching me from the space between the deck boards. Each time I would go out onto the deck three or four wasps would leave the nest to watch me from the crack. I decided to cover the cracks above the nest with two eight inches pieces of duck tape. Voila! Problem solved. Harmony again established on the deck.
