The file size is very small for this one and there is a lot of noise in the background.
Tried to fix this and lighten the face a little in a workshop, hope you don't mind.
Like your composition and the DOF focuses attention on the monkey.

I think this monkey is lemor.
Everything on this photo is excellent. Only you can try to lighen the monkey's eyes. Lemor has beutuful big eyes with strange color, something between red and orange.

Door zijn donkere ogen zijn dit zeer moeilijke opname's. maar je heb het geweldig gedaan. Zeer scherp en een sterke tekening die lang zichtbaar blijft. ook zijn ogen komen goed tot zijn recht.

I did a little workshop to reduce the noise.
The photo is excellent! I like the triangel in the compo!
The eyes are very dark but it made me even look closer to this lovely monkey!

I like this shot! I love the colours, the use of the daylight and the composition in this photo!
But I agree with yourself and Derek, it's too dark and too much noise in the background.

Hi Simone,
Just for the record this is a Lemur, a monkey-like animal that also lives in trees this one must be a ring-tailed lemur , they originate from Madagascar ,lemurs are primates like apes and monkeys. A lemur can jump and is very agile , its acrobatics are something to see !
A few lines about your photo, well first of all i like your comp basically , your subject could be a tad more centralized though , no distraction from the BG , DOF is just right as the head is well isolated from the rear , good points here, a pity the face is in the shade , this needs extra illumination , Derek's WS is very good for that matter , Alex's in reducing the noise as well ,well at iso 1600 it may creep in , a crop from the original image would bring in even more noise, nonetheless the capture of this superb creature is great , tfs your catch Simone,

The background noise does not interfere with the great details you have at his face.
