evening falls over Luoto

This is the reposted version.

Made a mistake with saving the image, forgot to convert from Adobe RGB to sRGB, the colours appeared too flat. Thanks Janneman :-)

During my short stay in Helsinki I made a long walk around the harbour and bay of the capital of Finland. Initial the sky was completely overcast with grey dull clouds. After a while the sky unveiled from the east. A fine but quite chilly view over the bay.

Here I took the change to take several picture of the late afternoon of this little island called Luoto in the entrance of the harbor of Helsinki.

Due low light used ISO 320 ASA.

PP work, adjusted levels and curves, even like the red and yellow tones in separate layers. Small crop and add frame. Used unsharp mask, 200%, 1 pixel and 0 threshold. Converted from 16 bit to 8 bit and after it to jpeg and resized for TL, used unsharpen mask (100%, 0.3 pix and 0 threshold).

Wonderful atmosphere in this excellent compo.
Love the reflected light in the windows

thanks,

Hi Hans,
Quite a subtle difference over the original by looking at it, but there is certainly a noticeable change - Looks a lot more vivid and eye-catching now. Personally I may have cropped a smidgen more off the sky, everything else is great however.

TFS,
Scott.

Hello Hans,

The autumnal trees make a pleasing warm layer, with the focal house and its sun-reflecting windows, adding interest and further colour.
Like Scott, I would have cropped a little from the sky for better composition.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Hans!
Both version are beautiful, but this one seems to be better!
Excellent colours and nice autumn atmosphere!
Good sharpness and lovely point of view!
Best regards!
Lili

Groetjes,
Anneke

Nice image - the colours are certainly nicely strong here, the image is sharp and crisp.

I can understand why there would be a benefit in repositioning the house a little to the left, and IMO the horizon may be slightly tilted - although with only a centimetre or so of "horizon" to go on, that's a difficult thing to assess!

Terrific work though!

Hi Hans,
Good your reposted version. The colors are definitively more bright especially on the trees. Superb diffuse light on the sky. You presented a charming place well enhanced by this warm fall view. Bravo and thanks for the note too! Annie

Hi Hans

The 2 red turrets, contrast well, against the pale blue sky. Good sharpness & framing. Maybe I'd boost brightness & contrast in the heavily shaded Autumn foliage, to make it 'pop' more? Good composition & light management. Tfs!

Do not agree with Anda's Ws far to blurred in MHO.
