Crater Lake is formed in the collapsed top of a volcano, Mount Mazama. On the day we visited a storm started rolling in immediately after we arrived. I took a few quick shots and we quickly departed back down the twisting mountain road. There is a national park located here. I wish we had been able to stay and explore the area. If you are interested in more information please follow the link below. http://www.nps.gov/crla/crlacr.htm

PP is sharpen and slight color and brightness enhancement.

Nice idea using the trees to frame the shot in portrait orientation. Watching weather coming across the water is fascinating - we overlook Okanagan Lake and can see the weather coming for miles - it's always a different view.

Nice capture, Cheryl.

Hi Cheryl,
Beautiful shot of a beautiful place. We were there many moons ago. I love the colors and the snow on the trees. Great compsition. You were wise to get off the mountain. Thanks for sharing.
Regards,
Jim

Cheryl, this is very good catching the storm as it rolls in over the lake. Well composed between the 2 trees. Excellent colours and details. Well done.

Great picture. nicely framed by the trees.
I like the colours and POV.
You were in the right place at the right time. Sorry it is such a cliche
:)

Good composition and great framing. I would have liked it a wee bit brighter, but still, it's a lovely picture. TFS!

I also like the framing by the snow covered trees with the storm in the back ground. Nice shot.

Now we could stay that we are just in the border of the storm!
You know is it possible for real? It happen just one time in my life. Walkking the same direection then the wind on a good summer day. It was sunny with big clouds. Suddenly i saw the rain start on the other side of the sidewalk. I were so surprised... Just on the other side. It take almost 1 minute. Then i realise whi, i had just the time to enter under a doorway from a store, then the rain finally arrive to my side... Durings those few seconds it's crazy... You say... Hey what's happen!! Funny... I would like to see it again! Nair a lake you can see the rain came from away... But in the city.. That effect surprise a lot!

It was in spring i soppose. The composition is good. The nature seam hiding some secrets! THat's great!

Very good composition Cheryl. Very well done.

Excellent photo and composition.
I like the lighting; it's dark and threatening, because of the storm coming.
Very good framing.
Well done.

Wow.... Just love this picture.

What a stunning photo. Great capture.

hi Cheryl! i love the presentation of this pic - the framing really does it justice! the double-framing effect on the inside caused by the trees gives us a pretty cool "insider's view" of the storm - feels like i'm right there! the muted hues really suit this stormy atmosphere too. Overall, it looks like something you'd see in National Geographic! :)
cheers

Unique weather captured nicely in this shot. I find it difficult to capture that type of effect in photos. Great shot. TFS
