[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Varsity is a hamburger place that is in Atlanta. Anyone who travels through the city, or lives here, knows about it. You can't miss it! Here is a small tidbit of information from their website:

Our Downtown Atlanta location is on more than two acres and can accommodate 600 cars and over 800 people inside. On days when the Georgia Tech Yellowjackets are playing a home game, over 30,000 people visit The Varsity.

It has been in Atlanta since 1928 and is very popular on college football weekends near Georgia Tech. We were studying the 1950's for the 50th day of kindergarten and these type of restaurants were popular then. Here is a photo of a varsity paper cap that are given to children when they visit. (We did not go there, but caps were donated).

You can also see the record and some of the numbers for the children to learn their numbers from 1 to 50. It was a fun day! Poodle skirts, slicked back hair for the boys, and pony tails and "clamdigger" pants for many of the teachers. :)

I darkened a tad with gamma correction and added contrast (as usual), resized for upload.

If you are ever in Atlanta, be sure to eat at this place. I've been going there since I was a child! :) I appreciate your comments and critiques. Lisa

Very bold, very contrasty Lisa - really stands out with the single bright cololur against a mono BG..

I saw the "Varsity" logo and figured this was your shot - great job catching the 50's feel with this image (except for the URL on the sign - no internet in the 50's ;-)) I like the deep red against the black and white background. Good eye to see and capture this neat image.

Been there, eat there but don't got the t-shirt. Great shot of a famous place. I like the presentation with the strong color and contrast. The idea of leaving out parts of the subject is great.

I have been so out of pocket lately that I have missed you and your postings! I like this a lot Lisa! Love the bold RED here! The cropping is nice, keeping things close! I was halfway to you this weekend....in Nawwwwlins! Very little evidence that a hurricane was ever there! They clean up well!
