Good Morning Everyone,

Today, my posting shows the mixture of colours that Nature uses in her autumn palette. These leaves were all captured on the same tree.

The shot reminded me so much of a tapestry that I undertook, some years ago, that I decided to give this shot a 'needlework' effect. I also wanted to show the real leaves so, I left the focal leaf original and texturised the rest. I hope you like it!

Shot in RAW, converted in PSE6.
pp slight crop, adj levels, selected green leaf with magnetic lasso, selected inverse, texturised, sharpened, added borders and signed.

Many thanks for stopping by.
Please feel free to feedback on any aspect of the photograph. Bev :-)

Hello Beverley! Wonderful leaves, very sophisticated composition, nice light and colours, interesting filter, good capture and frame. Good luck!

Hi welcome to my neighbourhood.wonderful colors, nice lights and contrasts.good PP work.tfs

Interesting style... I like the close up view and the autumn colours mixed with the last greens of spring..

Not so sure about the 'needlework' look. I think it would be great as a plain, simple good old photo.

Cheers
DAvid

Hi Bev :)

Wow, what a superb capture of autumn moments with great effect!
The sharpness and POV are perfect. The colors are just beyond imagination.

Very well done!

best regards,
Paras

Hi Beverley

Effective tight framing on the maple shaped leaves, with good sharpness & dof. I'm not sure if it's intentional, but the bg looks like a texture screen of sorts. Good colour contrasts between the brown, yellow & green. Tfs!

Edit: The texture screen I see, is the 'needlework' pp, mentioned in the note.

Hello Beverley.
What stunning colours you have in this photo and wonderful detail too. Great job, well done!
Best regards Siegfried

You have done what you set out to achieve and it does look like a tapestry. Lovely colours and detail and a hint of the sky comming through.

Bonjour Beverley.

Yolande

Hello Bev,
I had been thinking of shooting a similar composition, and perhaps this is exactly how I would do it. There is good sharpness with true colors. I like the added texture, your pp work and framing are commendable. Best regards
Danilo

Actually Bev, when I saw this I thought it looks just like a textured paper greeting card. I really like the end result here. Leaving the central leaf untextured was a great idea. .. this is really well done.
Enjoy your weekend

dear Beverley,
a beautiful autumnal picture,
the contrast between the real leaf and other needlework effected leaves is very interesting, it makes this seasonal atmosphere so well.
depressed colours and the gradation on main leaf show me artistic taste.
thank you for your excellent work,
Akihisa
