[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Captured at the Cebu Ports, The MV Doulos dock in Cebu for her last world tour.

One exposure, created two in photoshop
and merge in photomatrix. This is my 3rd try in HDR process.

The MV Doulos is the world's oldest active ocean-faring passenger ship. She is now owned by the German charity Gute Bücher für Alle (English: Good Books for All), and is used as a floating bookshop. The ship has previously been known as the SS Medina, the SS Roma, and the MV Franca C.

The MV Doulos currently holds the biggest floating library in the world. Normally there is somewhere around 3000 to 5000 books on the shelf and half a million in the hold.

She is currently doing her last world tour and was planned to be de-commissioned in 2010 when the SOLAS regulations are due to be introduced.

you never fail to impress me with your pp work Idol... this one is contains a lot of elements.. composition is great and the textures again is terrific! I especially like the colors and cloud details... TFS

Wow, this is a phenomenal photo. The colors are so vivid. I especially like the sky. I have not heard of the HDR process. I must find out more about it. Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous. My compliments.

First of all, I would like to mention that your note is very usefull, I love books and libraries, so your information about floating library is invaluable. The sky I like the most, clouds are just fantastic.

I like this HDR shot - it emphasises the blue of the sky and lifts the shadows, enough but not too much. Good use of the wide lens although in compositional terms the centre of the shot is actually a little too empty, perhaps if you had placed the bow of the ship on the left a little more towards the 1/3 point?
