"Critiques are more valuable than points" (anonymous)
I somehow needed to recharge my "batteries", so I went for a short trip back home and visited my family.
This is the first post of a series about my hometown, Royan, and technically the worst one.
Typical example of a spoiled picture, I only decided to post it so that you may have fun doing a true critique!! (Oh, I will laugh if I read any "great color", "good shot" or any general comment)
I can see at least six unforgivable mistakes here, how about you?
So come on and tell me everything that is wrong, for there not much to say about the good points!!
About the picture: I am having fun since this summer with my new toy: a fisheye lens.
Focal length: 10.00mm
Shutter speed: 1/125

Cool idea for an image. It would be nice if the whole machine was in the pic and if not over exposed to much. Plus for something like this I would choose an aperture of around F18 personally. I can also see a couple of blemishes that look like dustspots.
I do actually like the approach of the low angle though.
I must check back to find out what the other unforgivable errors are, it might help me learn ;)

Well I have to say that as a thumbnail this caught my eye - what works for me is the very wide angle view and the low POV. You can't deny this is an original photo, unlike the bugs and flowers, sunsets and portraits that flood TL - so that alone is commendable.
Shooting into the sun isn't always the best - another angle could have been better - but is it 'unforgivable'? I don't think so. There are areas of OE for sure and better to avoid that.
Dust bunny near the top of the frame, easily removed.
It would also be sharper I guess.
Personally I think the double white frame is too much.
And of course it would be nice to have the entire carousel included in the shot with nothing excluded.
Those are the points I have picked up, hopefully you can fill me in on what I've missed - I'll be interested to know! - but all all I still find this a fun, eyecatching shot.

Amicalement
