I must admit..I always come back to these birds....they are so amazing to watch and rewarding to photograph for they have some awesome attributes that set an example to how we should live. Nature has some powerful secrets that no school or institution can teach-I have sat in elite lecture rooms, listened to the captains of industry selling their stories but none of them can hold a candle to the architects of nature. These guys are truly "squeaky clean"!

Normally these birds are very shy and not very tolerant of our presence and move away everytime I approach them but no they seem not to mind my presence as much- I make slow advancements, a step at a time and wait for the feather clean blind spot moment where they are immersed in themselves. That gives me a short window of opportunity to advance and make some ground-each time edging myself inches closer to them. This was as close as I could get as I was now standing on the edge of the river bank wall which is a deep drop into the mud. So from here I waited for the Egret to do its magic. This was the moment and I hope you all enjoy seeing this.

PP work:

Graduated tint applied to dull sky, cropped to square format, resized, saved and uploaded to TL.

Any comments welcome and thanks for dropping by.

Dilshan

Hi Dilshan,
Very good shot, good details on the subject (the Egret). The color of the sky is special and gives something else to the picture. Personnaly, I would have preferred the picture if we could seen the head of the Egret. But anyway, well done!
Regards,
Valérie

I love it! I would have loved to have seen you sneaking up on this Egret. :) Wonderful note my friend! I could not agree more. Well done on this capture! I enjoyed it.

dear Dilshan Mahdi,
this warm light is superb.
the beautiful and humorous figure look live in this light.
and your diagonal composition and DOF make fantastic space.
strange style, repetition of rails and blurred trees become wonderful combination.
thank you for your excellent shot,
Akihisa
