[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Man against machine
I`m not uploading this photo to show you how beautiful the Cascade Pond is but to show the difference between machine computing (may it be photo-camera or photo processing software), when difficult lighting conditions have to be faced.
This photo is the result of using curves on different blending modes ( “Color”-to set the proper colors and “Luminosity” to boost the contrast) combined with the use of masks build using the color channels themselves, no painting involved whatsoever.
One of the workshops shows what PhaseOne Capture One v5 was capable to provide, using all the available tools.
The other workshop image shows the workflow in Photoshop. I hope this answers many people`s question: “Why use separate layers for curves?”. ..Because there is no way around it:)
Cheers:)

Servus Nelu,

just discovered it and I can't understand why I'm the first one to value this post.
Probably the challange "man versus machine" doesn't matter any more ?
Great note, even better workshop but not easy to figure out what has to be done though.
I donwloaded the "best converter version" and I'm going to give a try... then you tell me what "sucks" and why, ok ?

TFS and thank you,
Atti
