Cherries are one of my favourite fruits, and I have a fascination with water. So, why not combine the two for a photo!

How did I do it? I took a clear, glass coffee pot and filled it with water. Then, with the camera in my right hand, I dropped the cherry into the water from above with my left hand. It was very difficult trying to time when to drop the cherry because the camera has a short delay, but I managed! After an hour of fiddling with the aperature and shutter speed, I finally decided I liked this picture best. And yes, once I cleaned up the many splashes of water on the floor, I ate the cherry!

-I cropped the photo, dodged and burned certain areas aswell. I added some contrast, and fixed the colour of the water by playing with each colour dial (the water, at first, had a yellow tinge to it)

:) Might be a tasty one! :) I love this shot... The effect is amazing... I love the vivid colors and the mix-up of the water and the cherry... Perfect shot! Thanks for sharing and appreciate Ur Patience:)

Take care..
- Hima.

The cherry water, such a good combination! The water details in the upper part are just perfect, and the cherry add a warm color to these details, completing the composition. As i can see, you got rid of the yellow tint quite well. This hour you spent playing with water (and cherries!),working on this was worth it!

nice combination of ripples and drop bubbles...cherry has good colour cast...i see few chromatic abberation...may be it doesnt matter as it becomes part of the overall graphical quality of the image...

Hi again Linda! :P
This photo is amazing.
Perfect colours, amazing idea and incredible moment.
Ufff.......
Take care (this photo goes to my favorite list).

Matej.

This is an awesome abstract shot. I really like the variety of textures. Very arty. Best wishes!

Linda, this is an interesting experiment resulting in an abstract image you could enter in a guess-what-this-is contest. I hope that you don't have to go through all that every time you want to eat a cherry! Smile.

Excellent shot. Very fine moving of the water creates optical illusions! :)

Nice work.

Superb Creatively done!

Wong

You have captured the motion so very well here Linda, it looks almost like molten metal. The colour of the cherry is dark and rich and looks very appetizing. Very imaginative and a great success. Well done.

I think it's a very good picture. Almost a painting. Only, I would have made a frame around, because there was even more expression I think.

Regrads,

Don
