[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this portrait for my friend Laura, who wanted some pictures of her for her website. I liked this one because of the shadow along the wall.

This is the same wall that we I had taken this picture, also with her.

She has natural beauty and is very comfortable in front of the camera so made for a good subject. I'll also post in a workshop a cropped version of just her shadow, a suggestion made to my by a friend.

Very nice portrait Daniel. It is a type of picture I have not talent for but I really enjoy looking at what other people come up with to show portraits with always a different angle or composition. You are right that the shadow is the strong point of this picture and it is so well defined. She has a very serious expression and she seems to be a bit lost in her world; but it makes for an interesting portrait. The workshop version is interesting but I think I prefer this version as she adds quite a lot to the complete vision. The wall also has some interesting textures. Well done!

Nice portrait Daniel, like the effect of the shadow cast on the wall. Also think your workshop is equally impressive. TFS

Hi Daniel,
Nice shot. Good composition. Good grays. Nice texture contrast between your friend and the wall (soft and supple vs. hard and cracked). I think she's got a good shadow, too. Oh yeah, and she's pretty, too. ;)
Take care.
Richard

Very nice! The shadow looks fake since it is the perfect profile sillouette. :) I like the texture of the background wall too. Great lighting. Nice job. JP

Yes, beautiful picture, like you said
she is well relaxed, calm
and the shadow was perfect, a picture
different with a good subject.
Congratulations for the picture.

hey fine idea Daniel. now, not that i have anything against Laura, she's very pretty, but i am curious to see how this looks when it's just the shadow. the shadow is a mystery and she is the answer to the mystery, but i prefer just the mystery. :)

peace
