In German we say "Freud und Leid liegen nah beieinander". I don't know the exact english term for this, but i guess "Joy and pain are close relatives" would fit.

This picture was taken on a birthdayparty of friends and they placed some cake on the table. It was late in the night an you couldn't see what you get. It could be chocolate cake - mhhhhm - or some old and dry cookies someone left in a shelf. It could be a pleasure or it could need work to get rid of it.

I dont want to strain the Forrest Gump statement of life and a box of chocolates with this image. What i'd like to explain with it is decision making: humans always want to make their decisions on their own or at least think they make decisions on their own. The trouth is, that we don't decide, others decide primarily; our own unimportant decisions are followed by life changing situations. Primarily unimportant looking situations change our lives. Chocolate or dry cookies.

A good friend of mine explained this decision-making-thing to me months before i did this shot. I had a thought on it and the conclousion for me was, that this also happened to me. And it happenend again just days ago...

But, why did i choose this foggy, too dusty and blurry image for this note? The thing is, that i met a person being on this party days ago the first time since July the 10th 2004. Meanwhile she decided to go to a foreign country in a short time because of a demand to change her life, the demand to get rid of sad moments in her hometown because of a stroke of fate.

Distance, love and pain will follow for me. That will change me. The decision to meet friends in July 2004, the coincidence to see her on a 45.000 people concert, the fact to be head over heels in love. That will change me. It will change.

Like as the waves make towards the pebbled shore
So do our minutes hasten to their end,
Each changing place with taht which goes before,
In sequent toil all forwards do contend.
Nativity once in the main of light,
Crawls to maturity, wherewith being crowned,
Crookéd eclipses 'gainst his glory fight,
And Time that gave doth now his gift confund.
Time doth transfix the flourish set on youth,
And delves the parallels in beauty's brow,
Feeds on the rarities of nature's truth,
And nothing stands but for his scythe to mow.
And yet to times in hope my verse shall stand
Praising thy worth, despite his cruel hand.

(Shakespeare)

I believe you are giving us delicious chocolate creamy cake from the looks of the topping. Very touched with you words and agree with you. Love = Life. Good luck with your love and your change....
Oh..the photo is great. Not old and dusty but a treat to the eyes. TFS....:O)

Your note perfectly fits the image you showed. It's also worth to mention the technical quality of your image.
