[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
My friend the EMU was very upset this morning with his haircut. He was already not looking very smart, but, here, he looks like a clown.
---------
The EMU belongs to the same family as the ostrich (Ratites). By size, they are the second biggest birds in the world. They are mainly located in Australia, while the ostriches are living in subdesertic african and middle-east regions.
For having access to both birds, I consider ostriches are much more dangerous, as they can kill with their powerful legs and feet ended by sharp strong nails. The emu looks more placid, but I wouldn't trust them that much either.

LOL... good white background. It emphasizes the subject. Very good tight crop too.

Nice shot! I'm half tempted to give you two points for the title alone... Image wise, I love the composition, and managing to catch the Emu having a bad "hair" day is excellent. Image wise there are some processing steps I'd consider though - try Contrast Masking, it'll reduce the shadows and bring out some more detail. Similarly a little more sharpening would help I think. Finally consider converting to LABcolor and applying a light Gaussian blur on A and B to reduce some marginal ISO noise in the shadows. Of course the shot becomes less of a portrait, but it's an alternative! Very nice capture as usual :-D

Just to illustrate my idea I've posted you a Workshop!

Did you ask me before publishing a picture of my face when I wake up in the morning? :))
Good shot. Funny. Many good details in there.

Perfect title! Great shot too!

I do not think that I would ever want to be that close to that emu! It is interesting how the feathers sticking up look so much like peacock feathers. Love the bushy eyebrows! Great caption! Wonderful capture, Jean Michel!

He's clearly thinking "Hey! What 're you looking at??"
The picture is very sharp and with a good depth. And very funny!
Annelies

That's hilarious! He has this top-model kind of expression! I love it. Best wishes!
