[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The final installment of the collaboration of JP and I.

You can see JP'S VERSION HERE which is a reflection of that scooter and includes both of us in the process of taking these pictures.

This was shot on Cornealia street in the West Village, where my father actually has an apartment. The street is quaint and lined with cute little restaurants.

Composition wise I liked this because of the parking meter and street sign complimenting each other, leaning in different directions.

I also have a nice shot straight on of just the building and the woman bending over to pet that stray cat, which I may post at another time.

Tech notes: Adjusted curves, contrast increase. A bit of grain added which is something I usually do with B&W only but I liked the outcome here.

Thanks for your comments on this series, it was fun.

i'm going to miss these cool photos :)
i like the grain here, it works with this composition

hi Daniel, just a little question here... why put some grain effects when the photo was already good as taken? but if it pleases you, well, i'll try looking at the better artistic side of it too! :) the risk of taking straight shots is that you often get lens distortion which i saw some of it here. composition wise, it looks interesting.

I forgot to comment on yours! I am so sick right now. :(
Anyway, I love the photo although I don't think the grain adds much to it. But on the other hand I appreciate the originality of it. Your composition is very good. Defenitely fun to colaborate on this. Have to do it again! JP

Hi Daniel, I love scooters so it's very nice that you gave this one center stage. I like it very much how the scoot is off set by the petting lady and the parking meter too. The PP makes it a gritty urban capture. A great one from the nice NYC Invasion theme.
Regards from Rotterdam, Bert.

Hi Daniel, what drew my eye was the lady's backside matches that of the back of the scooter! I like the grain look. The parking meter is a distraction for me. Nice image, B

Daniel goooddddd shot here, two world put together, the lady bending and the famous scooter blending well in contrast with the building that grain gives a certain finess.
Ciao Ros

The grain effect is great. Your processing is really good.

Interesting daily life shot, Daniel. I like the colourful houses in the back and all of the details. I read your response to Brent (padre) and I cannot decide if the car is a distraction or not as it can be said that it is part of city life. However, I am not certain about the grain; it does give the picture a gritty city life but I think it would have been as good without. Well done!

NYC??? sure?
I thought at first glance it is somewhere in Italy. Well, I guess some places in the village have the Euro charm Good capture. The W.Village has some nice doors too.

Hi Daniel,
beautiful and colourful shot of a non-cliche-part of NYC. I envy you living in the world's best city.
Nice colours and beautiful grain effect.
I like it.
Nino
