[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
According to TRCA, nearly 6,000 pairs of double-crested cormorants nest in a large colony at Tommy Thompson Park which is located on a man-made peninsula that extends five kilometres into Lake Ontario. The tree in the foreground, like all the trees nearby is dead, killed by the accumulation of cormorant guano, which is highly acidic, and removal of foliage for nesting material.

PS treatment: straighening, cropping, levels and removal of some noise.

On TN, I have posted the same scene taken half and hour later. The difference in the sky is spectacular. Please take a look

I would say this is a very successful picture, great composition and beautiful colors. TFS Great Job

Terrific shot Daniel, perfect composition and great silhouette. The sky is amazing and the failing light it just enough to give the wonderful hues of gold and blue to the picture. Great work. TFS

Wow. Beautiful color

Hi Daniel,

Those idiots in Toronto have now a Cormorant day. I can't believe this.!!!

Excellent shot and well done on the composition and details.

Thanks for the info, something else to take to the MNR.

Mike

Where did you get the info of the 4000 pairs?

Hi Daniel you shot is super, but I don't agree with this story of the 4,000 cormorants, it's way too much and the damages they do are deadly just like you said here.
