I took this shot a few weeks ago at one of my childhood friend's weddings.

Missy is a close friend of mine with whom I've been friends since high school. She is quite stunning and offers easy photographic opportunities. She saw me poised ready to shoot and gave me a glance and bit of a smirk.

I felt she stood out among my hooligan friends (Best friend Ryan the bald guy on the left and another best friend Pete on the right). So I decided to focus the composition on her and destaurated the rest of the picture.

The wedding was lovely despite being such a beastly hot day. To see a slideshow of more shots if you're interested click HERE

Well Daniel, it takes a man to recognize a really beautiful woman, and Missy sure is one. You focused all of our attention on her, it seems as everything around exist just to lead us to her. Which certainly does not mean that the rest of it is poor. Au contraire - your b/w intervention is smooth and appropriate.

Great shot! Pass my compliments to Missy!

Hi Daniel,
Nice selective coloring job. I remember that bald guy...he's the one with those pants! ;P This shots kind of interesting. Missy is in color, which suggest dynamism...but, from her pose and expression, she seems to be the most static. Anyhow, good job.
Take care.
Richard

Hey Daniel, I missed this one somehow. Anyway, you did a great job with the selective desaturation. I looked at your other wedding photos and I think you have a lot of really great one. Much stronger then this one. Don't get me wrong, the girl is cute but the photo isn't that dynamic. Everyone is just standing around. I look forward to you posting more from the wedding though. There are some great ones in there. JP

If a person wears red, they deserve to stand out. Its one of my favorite colors, but I generally can't wear too too much of it. I like your idea, though I would have been tempted to decrease the brightness in the b&w part even more. But I have a tendency to darken everything to an extreme. Nice job, though!
