As I promised, I try to show you my town from a different angle. I did some shots of different alleys of Szentendre! :) There are a few here between the old houses!
This one is the first piece of the serie!
I love these narrow alleys...reminds me of the days when I "downhill"-ed down on them with my BMX! :))
To be honest this shot was a piece of junk, there was very diffuse lightning so I couldn't manage the sky not to be overexposed even with the Circ.pola. on the lens! So I did two shots than thought about coming back in a day or two..to try again. But at home I started to play with Photoshop!!! :)
Here's the way to the result!

I used 3 pix to put it together :))) I had two from the same angle but with different shutter speed (though both had overexposed sky)
1. Doubled the original layer and made the upper layer monochrome with a sepia-like tone and give 60% opacity so the colours from the bottom layer is still visible but combined with the brownish tone!
2. I cut out the houses in the bcgrnd from the other shot (which wasn't that overexposed)and applied to the original shot on a different layer
3. I had an idea of pasting a cloudy sky from another photo of mine! I think it works!!?! :)
4. Put an omni light effect on the bottom part of the stairs to make balance in the lightnings!!
5. Cloned a car out from the back.
6. Sharpened + Framed!

Easy as....... :)) What'ya think ? :) cheers!

Hi Tom !! This is a great work ! Man, those stairs are amazing. Great, love the sepia like colors of it. Also a BIG thank you for the very detailed note !! You are a pp master...

Marleen

What I think? I think it's a very good picture. I like the mood in this. Very good depth in it. The very white cloud gives a little bit of "light" at the picture and compleets the picture, I think.

wallie

Hi Tom,
Very nice picture. Fantastic POV and good sepia choice. The PP work it's also very well done :)

António

Wooow!!!
What a great perspective, great sepia. The best thing is hard stone of the stairs in contrast with smooth wals.
It looks like some place in seaside.
As I can see you had lots of job here on this photo. I hate this cars all arround and it is impossible to take some normal photo.
You have really good light here and you used it well.
Only try to fix the wall angle on the right with perspective tool in PS. Small detail on this in every way great photo.
Cheers to you too:-))))

Great pic, Tom, and a good note to explain. many years of footsteps imprinted here. Well done

Luci

I'm impress how it look used by the time! rich texture! Very nice. I like the POV well chosen! Great shot!

I missed this today! Lovely POV! Fantastic PP work. Makes me feel I'm about to get into a haunted area! Seriously! Nice textures and depth. Well done and TS

Another great view of your hometown, Tom. I have one of a stairway and it might be even the same one from my visit to Szentendre in 1999 - maybe I will post it to show you. You did well with this reconstruction work and the sepia tone works really well even if I think a colour version would be nice too as I remember the houses are always very nice colours. Well done!

very cool POV
well composed shot Tom

Hi Tom,

Very nice! It's like a postcard,I love the color and POV.
Fernando

it is such and unusual sepia Tom. The crooked stairs do have a strong nostalgic about it. I think it is an exceptional PP job - creating a masterpiece out of 'junk'.
Very well done
Mukesh

This is lovely Tom!! I have several shots of similar old stairways from my weekend trip to Macedonia! (not intended for TL, just because I really love them!!)...this looks wonderful in sepia! you use lots of it, must be quite romantic;)) bravo for the composition and adding the sky, good choice!
congr!!

Hi Tom,
Great job you done here.
I like this photo because remembers me some locations in old Lisbon. Very good prespective and the sepia gives to it beautifull tones.
Best regards,
José
PS: You have beautifull pictures. I must see all soon.

Excellent PP, would never have thought that this is from more than one shots. Beautiful.

Attila

Ur pP work is very informative! Learn something new!!!

I like the narrow steps and streets!!!

Good Work!

Very nice, great perspective and the sepia color does wonders, thanks for all the how to do also, great note.
Christine.

Not much of a comment from me this time.
It's not easy to type when you sit there with your mouth wide open and saliva slowly flowing down your chin - watching this photograph.

George
Any remedy for me?

It feels as if the middle of stairs is going to continue to bend and buildings will clash into each other. Excellent composition! I am sure everything else was said before me. :)

Katya

Your have skill using photoshop. Its amazing what you have done with images you say were rubbish.
This image is certainly not rubbish but very pro.
