~The Blue Dot, The Mind and Projection~

May I try something different on this Day!
What would one write about this image....not that I don't know or really have any pre-conceived notion on this. I'm just wondering where each individual would move through from their beings. As we all have our agreed upon reality and then our existence realites...our mind, body, soul existence. I would love to see where this is taken from your perspectives.
Short, long, any type of subject that moves from your being to attach your words to this image.
I hope you will participate.
Thank you.

michael

Location: This image was taken outside in a stairwell during the late afternoon. As I walked down the steps and viewed this display I stopped and grabbed some images.

pp-full frame with added frame and stroke. Desaturation and history brush for glass blocks color to return. Lukos USM, neat image just for small smoothing atmosphere and +15 contrast (ChrisJ I had you in mind with the contrast on this one-Hope I did not push the contrast to far....hmmm?
:O) and signature.

Don't read below yet for my take on this!

Update: Well I guess I'm impatient for the response to this. Just wanted some imagination so here goes with mine.
The title: The Blue Dot(upper right third of the image)represents the subtleness of the soul.
The blue dot in this image is the SOUL. The Glass blocks is the mind/persona ego. The concrete with the light reflections from the glass blocks is your or the reality. This image is about filters with the glass blocks and its somewhat clarity yet overall distortion just like the mind likes to create and oh yes the mind creates plenty of distortion. The conscious filters many many things into the unconscious and likewise flows the otherway as well. The information getting through is always with a spin for it's out thoughts that color the situation, event, encounter or experience. The blue dot sits back and tries to look out through this distorted lens/filters onto the world. Likewise with the mind some say being the gateway to the soul, the mind if acute enough can but things together very well with the soul. But a majority of the time clarity is of issue. But you say it is our mind our reality of thoughts. Yes this is true but thinking is the fundamental difference in thought...huh! There is thinking and then there is thoughts. The mind may seem to be a constant stream however on closer scrutiny this is not the case. The ego/persona keeps in thinking for it's illusion of continual existence. This is where the power of the NOW comes in! Freeing yourself from the known. When completely in the moment there is no thinking, yet the ego/persona will try to pull you every which way to past or future to keep it's energy. When the NOW is accessed the ego/persona has no stream and loses it's existence and basically freaks out.
Well, there's my take.

Hi Michael, your image makes me think about the TV series where they travel from one planet to another through a portal. The glass blocks looks like they are still liquid...
Some interesting shooting material this...

Very nice image, Michael! I like the contrast between the textures. And a very nice DOF. A very "clean" picture, a good example of your style. I love it!

It is as if the rays of light are physically moving the carpet pile, kind of massaging the fibres to make them soft and comfortable to lay on.

I see the blue dot, but to my eye the dot is out of place, perhaps an unwanted guest?

Take it easy

Good pov and nice colours. I like it.

Ok I haven't read the bold text yet in order not to spoil my thoughts just yet. The only thing I keep thinking about, is how comfy it must be on that rug in the sunshine with those little rays of light.

There you go.

And NOW I can read your bold text.

The insignificance of blue dot is quite striking. Our distortions and ego issues are always so humungous that soul invariably shimmers out of reckoning. I like your take on Now - you really have put it nicely. Yes that's it. This is what meditation all about. If we can make our distortions non consequential and let our soul shine through we would always be at peace.
Great value addition to a lovely picture Michael. Thanks for your thoughts.

I like the touch of yellow in this one, with the very subtle light on the floor. Nice product!

Hi Michael

I like the strong diagonal, & contrasting textures & tones. The subtle color in the glass window is a nice aspect. Good work!

Well, it seems I got to your picture too late and you have done all of the analysis that needed to be done for this one. I guess it is late after a very busy & long day at work (just got home from work) so it might be a good thing that I don't have to work my brain anymore!!!! Oh, just realised that I missed your warning so did read your text...but I do like your analysis and in particular the glass representing the filter we put on to interpret everything. Ok, I will still try to find something original to say...

Well, for me the blue dot looks like an eye observing me from behing the glass. I can actually see a face in the glass like someone is hiding behind the glass to obverse without being seen. Maybe someone who is too shy to come over to say hi to you as you were taking this picture. The texture on the ground can be different paths that can be taken by people as we have to make so many decisions in our life and not all of them are the right ones but we still need to make choices.

Anyone, this is a really good simple picture that really show your style. Excellent!

Hi Michael

Beautiful image, Michael. I like the diagonal you used here, the light through the glass tiles creates a nice pattern on the tablet (which has a nice structure btw) and the soft greenish hues on the tiles are magnificent. A beauty.
For me the blue dot is the dot underneath the question mark you used after asking us for our opinion. The tiny black dot (which is a bit disturbing) on the left side of the tile under the one with the blue dot is the little bit of response you got so far... and the white spot in the same tile represents your own analysis ;o).
Nice experiment, great picture! TFS.

Its fantastic and profound. I really like it. I would only not have signed it off the same way.
Font and framing great but the misalignment really takes away from the image...
nonetheless - this shot is a jewel and once again with thought behing every image. great.
