[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken at the same event as the previous one (the town fair)...this was one of the merry-go-arounds, which wasn't in use that evening. I put the camera on the ground and took the picture from below, as I liked the stripy pattern of the metal bars. The bars were white-yellow-red, and I didn't like that combination so I decided to make it a B&W photo. The symmetry is not perfect, so any suggestions are welcome.

****After Posting*****
It didn't show all the text, sorry for that! I will add now:

PP: Converted to B&W, adjusted the symmetry of the bars in PS (edit-transform-distort), raised contrast, framed.

very good BW...
it´s moving and moving..
I m turning around and ....
well done
have a nice day!!
:-)

Thank god that symetry is not perfect!!! You did great to move the pillar to the right, breaking the ordinarity pattern. Maybe that wire [?] is a bit distracting, at least to me. But its a minor irrelevant detail.

When I look at the pillar bottom I feel as it goes straight out of my eyes ...

Great b/w Maria.

ComplimentS!

Great effect, enhanced by the BW and a perfect contrast.

Have a nice day

Marco

Hi Marija,

I like this!!!Great POV!!!Beautiful effect and great B&W.
Obrigado,
Fernando

Hi Marija,
Very nice picture. Fantastic POV and contrasts. Good choice for B&W. Well done
Regards, António

Your POV and composition are perfect. The alternance of dark and light on the beams creates a lovely effect. Good idea to go B&W. Great job!

Hi Marija!
looking at the photo gives me a slight vertigo. The offset composition is fine here, though I feel if you could adjust the exposure of the bar to the right, it would gel better with the photo..
The choice of POV is very creatively done.
TFS
Cheers!

Hi Marija,
good shot. I like this BW. I am agree with Ashish.

Gigi

Hello Marija, well seen and composed. I love the graphic effect and it works really well in bw.

Well done and well seen.

Take care, Yan

beautiful! wow. that is great. The sharpness and contrast are really eye catching. Very good composition too! Simple and yet very pleasing to look at. Excellent job! (I am not just saying that to be nice. ;)) JP

Another very good one from the fair and I very much like it, Marija! I am actually surprised that it works so well in B&W as you would have thought that the colour version would bring more of a festive mode but I think the B&W makes more of a graphical picture. Very creative way to present this ride. Well done!

This is mind-boggling! 8P ...Nice perspective..really well seen Marija!

About your query, well...if the symmetry was perfect, it would have been pretty common (read: boring :P)...So, I like it as it is.

Perhaps, you could try getting your camera aligned onto the pole and shoot up. The leading line would have more impact as it takes the viewer from ground zero to the top. Just a suggestion..

Also, just thought of it...how abt a spiral PP? ..to create some motion in this shot? :)

Wow! From the thumb it looked like a bullet train going through a tunnel at the speed of light. Excellent POV. Very well seen, composed and captured. B & W does the job.

very nice POV maria
well seen and composed photo

excellent, amazing! ;)

Hi Marija,
You have been making beautiful photo's for TL, great job with your work!
This one is no acception. Purely graphical is a really great description/title for this very sharp in contrast imagery. Seriously, that's some intense contrast along with the great pov and the lines and stripes. Very nicely seen and good work on the b/w processing.
I agree with Ashish on the exposure on the bar to the right, if you can burn that in some this piece would then be exceptionally excellent as an absract. Composition is really fine here for the interest is in the tightness of where the lines are meeting for further out things start to diminish. Great work Marija!

michael

Excellent composition and game with black and white! Those stripes reminds me of some giant mutant bee or something :)
Composition lines are used in a great way, maybe some parts are OE, but all in all, this is wonderfull succesfull experiment.
Great job, TFS!

Robert

Hello Marija! This is a very spectacular image! Nice graphics and great composition! Bravo! Michel

I was glad to read that the merry-go-round wasn't operating. You might have been swept right along with it, trying to get this great shot!

Groovy!

Hey Marija, sorry to neglect your gallery these days, but been busy at work :(
Checking your 2 latest posts.....Great!!! Good choice of B&W...it's like in an old movie... I'm glad it's not symmetric this time.. it's more interesting like this and gives dynamism to it!!!
cheers
ToM

Good choice to change this in B&W it makes the effect stronger Marija...
You are really a woman so as you describe in your introduction to take your camera everywhere...lol...

Jos

superb point of view...leading lines all headed to a focal point....seal it with black n white contrast... the stripes on the metal bars add variety as well
