Wow Magda, it's wonderful!!!!! I always fall for pregnant women, it's the most magnificent event of life, it's magic. You put it in image so perfectly, that new life, that light, taking her place in our world. Surely a great image; I can't help to have some associations with those religieus anti-abortion posters on railwaystations. In a way they appeal (also?) to our natural longing to save the living ones.
Nevertheless (or that's why) my association proves somehow the quality of your image.

It speaks for itself in the most beautiful way. It's tender, is sweet, it's perfect. The way she looks down and puts her hands on her baby. It's just wonderful. And your setting made this a magic moment indeed.

I seem to have missed this one... Very nice shot, Magda! Although we cannot see her eyes, her pose makes clear that she's looking at her belly in such a sweet way. It's lovely. I hope her little girl will see this when she gets older!

One of the few maternity photo's that REALY inspires me! I love the lighting, exposure and the set-up/pose that you have done here very much. The only thing that I noticed is that her head is cut at the top, other than that, this image is remarkably excelent for me - something that can be added in a stock library for maternity magazines / advertisements. There is a powerful symbolism in this photo... I can understand the strong emotional reaction to it. Could I make the suggestion that this be posted as part of the hunt to find photos on the theme of 'uncertainty'. If there is ever a time in life where the emotion of uncertainty is high it is this stage in a mothers (and fathers) life.

Your photograph seems to be a combination of, a glimpse of the soul of the subject and a glimpse of the soul of the photographer. Thank you for explaining the pain you went through to think of it. It gives me hope that I may one day, with work, take a photograph that tells its story so well.

Hello Magda,
This certainly is an inspired image,which really provokes the viewer to imagine the thoughts and dreams of the expectant mother.
(I'm curious to know who it is ... since you said some would recognise her. Is she a TL member?)
I'm going to 'buck the trend' here,cos I just have to be different.
Somehow,I felt that the light should be a little higher if possible,so that the upper part of her belly was lighter than the bottom.
Of course,that would be tricky to do without lighting her face and spoiling the silhouette effect.
It does look brilliant as it is in any case,but that was just a thought that occurred to me.
Wonderful work,and one to be proud of :)
