I posted this in reaction to Marleen's photo of today - I remembered that I still had something similar on my hard drive... :)

These are houses along the river Neckar in the medieval university town of Tuebingen, about 50 km south of Stuttgart. I was on the other side of the river, it was a sunny November weekend...

In fact, on TE Norbert Woehnl posted some great shots of some of these houses, too (just look up "Germany" => Tubingen) and what is more, on exactly the SAME day (!) - what I found out today when I had another look at this photos... What a coincidence... I started on TE and when I saw Norbert's photos there some months ago - of course I didn't feel like posting something that similar...

Now I have changed my mind - this here is TL, not TE, and Í did not even shoot these houses AFTER Norbert... Then again, these shots here are different, the houses not quite the same...

In my case, I didn't pay that much attention to avoid the grass and plants on the river's edge, but I guess it's still nice...

I took four photos of these houses (might post another one), and here the distortion effect is not as strong as in the other photos (the others are more like Norbert's shots). Here, however, I felt that the plants were not quite as disturbing as in my other shots, that's why I posted this here as the first one...

Wow... A great composition, Frank! The distorted reflections from the houses make this one a very good abstract... I like the way you include some of the shore, giving your viewers some reference and also creating excitement... Well done!
Regards,
Pablo -

Hi Frank,
Great colors to set the mood for this shot. Warm and light! I think the grass/shore is fine in this shot. Adds to the earthly colors from the buildings.
I could see more contrast added within this shot to really make the image pop. Although I have not calibrated my monitor this week..... oops!
Anyway, I enjoy the subject and the painted reflections are quite beautiful as almost any shot with right sight like this is a great treat to look upon. So nicely seen Frank.
The colors really set for me the delightful mood in this shot. TFS.

Great shot..i love the colors..well done.

love it, looks like a painting, that has been dilluted or moistened by accident. the colours here are sharp, and crisp.

cheers

Hi Frank,

Let me start by saying that I don't know if I like this picture or not. Yes, I am a little confused today. :( On one hand, I like the crispness and brightness of colors and the abstraction that the water creates out of building reflections. On another hand, I do have an issue with grass, not because I don't like the fact that you have grass in this shot but because it looks kind of messy. I would imagine that if you were to get down closer to the water and try to shoot that way instead of doing it by looking down, the grass frame would have looked better. I should come back later and look at this again. Maybe I will know for sure if I like it or not. :)

Do I even make sense today? :)

See ya,
Katya

Hi Frank ! Yours are a lot prettier than mine, all those colors, it is wonderful ! I see you didn't want to take a dive either ;-)

It has happened to me before too, I have an idea to post something and then someone else does it before me so my posting goes to rest on my hard disk for a while...

Well done, Frank, looking forward to more !

Marleen

Hi Frank. Nicely done. A very good quality reflection with great colors and lighting. Might be fun to frame it rotated 180. :) That might be kind of clihe though. Great photo! JP

The grass almost always plays a spoilspot in some reflection pictures, so I concentrate on the grass only :D, LOL,just kidding.

The reflections are quite sharp and colourful. Maybe an idea to include only one house, am just thinking aloud and wondering what I would do if I were in your shoes. I also like JPs ideas of 180 deg..

Still its by all means a nice shot taht is well spotted.

Ciao Frank, what a fantastic reflection play and amazing colours,it's a strange mix of natural and paint,I like a lot to see in the water everything I can image.
Bravo
Edie

Nice reflections and very sharp. I like them not so much as reflections of houses but even as abstract art.

Regards,

Tom

Even in reality I don't see such sharp and colourfull reflections. It's dificult to be original with reflections, but this one is; indeed like Marleens picture an equal quality.
Thanks Frank

Hey Frank! I don't mind the grass. Keep it there! Is it a river or pond, and not a puddle of water though?
It looks quite a sunny day and the light on the buildings and the blue sky gives it a good clean look to the painting / photo. Nice and sharp too, I like it.

Its beautiful... :) Why dont U send me the larger version so that I can have a print and put it in my office...? Please do... Beautiful colors and this looks clean even with the kind of elements in it... :D... Good one and thanks for sharing this one Frank :D...

Take care...
- Hima.

Pretty!! I like the colours and the shapes very much. Well done, Frank, I'm glad you decided to upload this!
Annelies

Very nice abstract, Frank! I particularly like the way the blue in the houses matches the blue of the water - it sort of pulls the colors together.

Excellent!
