This is a shot of a flower bed in the Johannesburg Zoo. Yes one does not only have to take pictures of animals in a zoo :-)
I am not sure what they are, but the flowers where amazingly bright and I thought I could try and show just how bright and colourful they are.
I also got to play with a L-class lens for the day, o what fun...

This reminds me of those packets of seeds that you buy at the nurseries. Beautiful colours. There is one little flower infront that is a bit out of focus but the overall impression is nice.

Hi Johan,
Interesting composition using the 100-400. Are you nuts? LOL
That lens is a telephoto, a lens specific for targeting a couple of subjects. Details are lost, the colors have been either, Blown, or oversaturated in post pro.
Judging by the image, I'll go with slight overexposure.
A unique way to capture a flower bed, alot of nice colors. Hey, I used a 36mm ext. tube with a 100-300mm tele to capture a portrait of a Goose. LOL

here in Brazil, she is wonderful, we only have
in small vases, I never saw them in amounts
big as these.
Congratulations for the picture, great color and composition
