[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
16:04 hrs - The tiny church as seen from the dock. The clouds are becoming heavier as the sun is setting slowly. Soon it will disappear behind the mountains and clouds.

The heart of the village is around the small dock. A few inns are at the proximity of a creek ending in the tiny bay.
Port-au-Persil is a peaceful haven hidden at the heart of a cove. Named in the seventeenth century by the province’s founder, Champlain, Port-au-Persil (“parsley-haven”) because of the presence of this sea-herb, is a treasure certainly worth seeking out. A tiny hamlet that stands gently within the depths of a small bay on the shores of the St. Lawrence River, in the region of Charlevoix and just off of the main road (highway 138), the village was founded in the mid-nineteenth century by a Scotsman, Neil McLaren. In 1893, his son built a white wooden chapel located on the rocks of the riverbanks. Although McLarens’s son was destined to become a Presbyterian pastor, his faith did not prevent him from marrying a Catholic, news that surely must had left the village aflutter.

I am new in this website, this is my first critique. This picture looks very well and the ilumination is very fine. The sky is stormy and this element helps to make a better poetycal theme inside the meaning of this photograph.

Bravo pour cet autre magnifique paysage de la région de Charlevoix. Belle composition en diagonale. Contraste intéressant du bleu des nuages et du ocre orangé des rochers. Les complémentaires sont bien servies. Chez-moi, on appelle ces pierres de rivage des "crans". À la prochaine!

Wow Robert, this is a well composed scene. The details and colours are all nice and sharp and colourful too. The White of the building contrasts so well against the rough cloudy sky. Well done.

Great shot Robert, marvellous composition. Love the way the clouds echo the patterns of the rocks. Terrific work.

Very nice picture, Robert. The visually engaging sky and rocks in the foreground create a beautiful setting for the buildings. One thing, (since it's supposed to be a critique, right?), I would have placed the church itself a little bit further from the edge of the frame. But maybe it's just me...
