[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Testing out my 70-200 f4L lens which arrived today. This was a 100% crop of part of the picture with no usm or post processing applied. I did have to resize from 852x968 to meet the upload restriction.

Nice close-up, Gary. Excellent DOF, and f/11 at 1/500" : it appears to be a very light-sensitive lens.
Holly has a dignified look... beautiful dog, a Border Collie ?

Now thats a close-up portrait, good crop. I don't think the ears always have to be included, it takes a good eye to crop out what you don't really need, it takes the right moment to take the shot. You did it, it tribute to your friend!
Good sharpening, and a good portrait!

This is a great close up of Hollie. Your new lens seem to work just fine. I thought the image might benefit from some sharpening. I did a workshop to explain.
