[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a picture of my son Ely Joshua Jacob being born into this world.. 2-3 hours of labour and out..Born in Tel Hashomer Hospital.. by a Midwife who just happened to go to school with my wife - very warm and comfortable, as I recall I did not use a flash

I manipulated this image quite a bit:

1. did curves
2. selected baby - then inverted selection
3. used channel mixer to create b&w image - wanted to blow it out a bit - used curves to adjust
4. used motion blur to demphasize the nurses and mother.. and also to create a more dynamic image
5. selected baby and adjusted colour - reduced reddishness of infant and made more skin tone
6. neat image on whole picture - (I have another one which has "grain" in it - I am not sure which I like better)

Beautiful moment captured in a beautiful shot, with excellent PP. A happy life to all of you, Yoram. May you make many more pictures of your son and wife. TFS.

This photo is so effective, as is your note explaining how you came to this finished image. Congratulations on the birth of your son (4 years late, but hey).

Excellent manipulation of colors, Yoram. I remember that you once told me about this photo, it is really amazing. Very good job.

Thank you for sharing this very special moment with us Yoram-. 2-3 hours...wow, she was lucky. that doesn't sound that scary...It is a very well captured photo Yoram and considering the stress and emotion that must hve been in your head at the time makes it even more impressive.. Thsi one will have to go to my hart theme ;)

Great affect with combining the B&W & colors! Congratulations! You are lucky to have such photos of your child being born. I wish my parents would have had this technology when I was born... :) Great job as usual!

Hey Yoram
A great celebration of life, I love the way that it captures the heat and the fast paced movement of the moment, and the very stale first moments in the life of Ely.

It seems that hospital look the same everywhere in the world, and the only way to distinguish this one as an Israeli hospital, because of the Hebrew lettering...

Anyway great photo, thanks for sharing!

Great post - I just did one of the birth of my daughter so I was curious about your experience. Lovely PP work too!

Congratulations & well done.
