I was getting a haircut at a new Japanese hair salon near London Bridge, and being the diligent photographer that I am, I had my camera with me and started taking photos. This is a painting I made out of one photo.
Click here to see the original photo, which is pretty boring. Hopefully, you find the painging I made out of it more interesting. I liked the rough shapes it makes in the painting version.
CLick here to see a photo I posted on the Trek Earth site that I took of myself getting a haricut.
The salon is Malishi Hair Design, a new salon, and Mariko, my stylist in the photo, does a great job. |

so interesting. I prefer this photo. Original one is boring. By the way, can you speak japanese?

Hi Thomas,
Nice work. You made this barber chair resemble something out of the 60's with the pp you did. Interesting...I like the almost monotone colors that stress only the form of things.
Well done.
Richard
Hi Tom,
I like your latest experiments, this on no exception! Even without your description this one gives me an Oriental feeling, I cannot say exactly why but that is not interesting anyway... Pleasant composition and calming colours... keep experimenting!

Hi Thomas,
I also use my pictures to make painting of it. Can you tell some more about the technique you use, materials, paint etc. I like this painting. It's remarkeble to see how close you stay with the form and the colours and still create a new scene.
