In my park

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Like many people, I live in an appartment in Paris. I don't have a garden (though I have a balcony :-) and so the local park (Champs De Mars) is very important to me, it is my place to get out from the dark chasms which are Paris's streets and into the open.
What is also nice about the Champs De Mars is the flower beds that are kept stocked with plants year round - I grew up in the country when I was young, and I really miss the green grass, flower, trees and mountains (the latter I particularly miss). So, whenever I see flowers it reminds me of those places I like most and miss very much.
[Post processed in PS with Paint Engine - NB, normally I process my pictures as 3,500x2,400 pixels and print A3/A4, so the effects always look a bit weaker when downsized for the web, but you get the general idea] |

I red your note Dave, and i wonder, how do you down size it? Do you go directly from 3,500x2,400 to 800x530? Then you will loose both details and quality. Try and down size in several steps, adding a small amount of USM each time. Hopefully it helps to keep, if not all but at least more details. I did a WS on another photo on TrekNature, here, where i explained the down size some more.
The picture is really nice i think and i kind of like what you did to it. I do find the pink flower to be a bit distracting though, as it breakes the colour scheme it stand out a bit to much IMHO.
nice, looks like a painting, very sharp 2!like what you did 2 the background.
well done!
