Excerpt nr 13 from ‘A special night.

...We looked at each other, and as so often on the same wavelength, we burst out laughing, unable to stop, drunk with fatigue and mirth. We hugged, then crawled back into our berths.
The cadenza changed, waking me. I listened, Paul was in deep sleep. Faint light filtered in through the hatch. I felt around for my stuff, tried to put some decency into my appearance, and, oh so quietly, I felt my way up.
What I saw was stunning. The promise of sun, early rays illuminating the last darkness of night, the sea a pregnant black mass of lapping water-peaks.
It felt as if the iodine scented air was sucked deep into my brain, triggering memories of earlier summers.

As the sun rose in orange glory, offsetting the blue ever more, I saw all the other trawlers on the horizon.

...In our foaming wake, a shrieking battle was going on between hungry seagulls, their agility never ceased to amaze me.
I retrieved my camera and eternalised these beautiful moments.

Well, morning was upon us, we were heading back to land, I'll take you all the way, three more images, hope you enjoy.
Difficult light conditions, still too light for the one, too dark already for the other, c'est dure la vie de photographe, hihi.

You've certainly captured the flurry of activity from the seagulls as they jostle for the best positions and scraps. The colours are lovely here too. A dynamic picture which tells the story eloquently.

Prachtige foto !
het doet me denken aan een mop
"waaraan kunt ge zien dat het geen neder-
landse boot is?
Er vliegen te veel meeuwen achter!!

Hi Magda,
Very moody and vivid picture. The movement of the birds gives a lovely contrast with the sunset-sky and the waves of the sea.

A beautiful image, Magda. This has been quite a wonderful series as you presented us all of the important steps of this adventure with detailed notes and I have felt that I was on the boat with you. Obviously, you have managed the light condition quite here with a superb composition with those birds flying toward the horizon. Excellent!

Good capture, Magda! Lots of movement in the birds, a nice composition with the beam on the right side, and man! that straight horizon line! Nice job!

Wonderful Magda given the light conditions of which you wrote. Soft colours and the almost ghostly images of the gulls. All round an inspiring photo. Almost made me seasick looking at those waves :)TFS and for the notes also,

Hi Magda

I like the repetition of the seagulls. A superb seascape at sundown, with marvellous color, graphism & silhouettes. Congratulations!

I like how the clouds blend into birds, or is it the other way round?

Hello Magda, I love this photo very much :)

To see the gulls following the boat, the colours of the sky and the waves made by the boat. Very well done.

Cheers, Yan
