"He" was in the good mood? I suppose it's Hanna, right? So... ;)
I'm glad mom was in the good mood too, so we have a good photo. Can't see whether it's been done with a new camera or not, but there seems to be a lack of sharpness here. You did a good work by sharpening her eyes (and mouth?) but the skin looks too smudged for me.
Overall composition is very good although tight, the moment you caught is priceless, but that skin texture...
C'mon, your standards are very high, so I know we will see much better work here soon ;)

but if we talking about mood and charcter of image, i'd prefer this one!

nice soft focus, normaly i would remove sparkles from the eyes, but in this one just gives this nice balance to white teeths

I've been lokking at this for a couple of days now trying to make up my mind about it and I finally did. I like it. I had second thoughts because it has a certain snapshot quality. That's because of the smile (laugh) she gave (made) looks like a beautiful family moment. Then on the other hand the B&W suggests a "serious" photo with all the PP work done (bluring the cheeks). It's her innocent, childish smile that takes the cake and that's all ther is to it!! I don't know why I wrote all that c... before...
