First Turkish coffee in Sarajevo in company of my friends. All of them seem to be concentrated (and due, since it is necessary to take care not to pour the marc of the coffee in its cup) except Bertrand, which looks at me. It is what I like more in this photograph, which would not have been the same one if they all were busy with their
coffee...

Hello David, I do agree with your note: Bertrand looking at you :)

This is a very great daily life and very instructive on how to pour Turkish coffee. Also the composition and the dof is very well done. Great colours too and the image is very sharp.

Also, I love the way you made your frame.

Very well done. Take care, Yan

A bientôt,
Pris.

:))
so nice... I like it much..

david,
it was nice fer me to see the serving style;it is different here in turkiye.here they serve it in the cups so they pour it in the kitchen.but it is better for the customer to pour it himself like u do in the pic.
regards

Hey! Nice to see Turkish coffee in there :) Some here in Turkiye serve it like that too and they put a lokum (Turkish delight) beside it. Here i see the tea glass, they serve water here. Actually we drink tea with it and call them thin belly tea glass :) Friends like the tast of it by the way? :)

I like your shot with that nice presentation with so good colors . Thanks...
Elif

Salut david

Nice pp... Exelent photo...

Good job...

I have a turkish coffee service like that :-) Oh, old Sarajevo, that beautiful place! Good sequence of photos.

I like it not just because of the coffe service they got the same but also because of coloures of their clothes and because of the story in the street (the lady with a man in a jacket with yellow stripe). Great, really...I must add it to my favourites :))

...Or: 'Find the odd one out' ;-) True, this totally completes the whole. Plus, you caught all three of them with a different kind of concentration on their faces - great framing job, too!

Quite a shot, an ordinary thing nicely captured and arranged. I'll just add a tiny cusriosity about coffe and the Bosnian people. Coffee drinking is a ritual in Bosnia as much as tea is in England, which I guess you gathered from your visit to Sarajevo. I've been told by a Bosnian friend that when a firend visits another three pots of coffee are made:
1. the welcoming coffee pot
2. the chatting coffee pot
3. the leaving coffee pot - after this one you are expected to go home

Great effect! Ummm hot men!! far left and far right especially. Was this a panoramic shot?

OK, a REAL Turkish Coffee nowadays can only be found in Balkans. And especially in Bosnia, by their 'patented' recepy:

1. pout the coffee in 'xhezve' [the tin goldish thing you see in the hands of two characters] ... by choice, you can add sugar [three versions: sweet, medium, sugar-free]
2. you warm it on fire, just until the coffee aroma gets stronger.
3. add cold water and boild it until bubless reach the edge of xhezve.
4. coffee is served best in 'filxhan', preferably made of porcelain.
5. the thicker the 'creme' on top - the better the coffee [and more trouble for one's heart]
6. Original tradition of coffee drinking goes as follows:
- merhaba coffee [welcome coffee as JKNEZE said]
- muhabet cofee [chat - better say gossip - coffee]
- sikter coffee [ literally: get lost coffee]

So, if you ever wonder what all decent, self-respecting Balkanians do every morning at 0700AM - just check this pic and you'll know it.

And yet i preferr espresso... ristretto, if possible.

A.

This is an interesting photo! I like the way you put the three together! Where there 3 different photos, and did you put it together by leveling out the table?
Very creative!
TFS dorien!

This is wonderful. I enjoy the whole scene and I love how you connected the three photos. Wonderful job.

Et encore du beau boulot, bravo David très belle capture, je suis d'accord avec toi pour ce qui est de Bertrand qui te regarde la photo est vraiment par ce regard.

Steph.

Interesting photo. The composition and colours are great. Congratulations!

Coffe is extremely important for Bosnians. Most of us get up really early becouse we want to enjoy our coffe before going to work. Usually, we spend 1 hour or more simply siting in silence and enjoying our coffe.

In 15 century in Bosnia, then part of Ottoman empire, it was legal for a woman to divorce her husband if he couldn't provide her with her daily quota of coffe.

ciao David,

Interesting "daily life" photo. So interesting to look into the life in other countries around the globe.

Have you ever considered getting into panoramas. This image would be much larger in that regard. Here's a link to one of mine to a panorama and be sure to click on the "larger version" when you go there:
