The Ermida de Nossa Senhora das Salas is ordered to construct in the end of century XIII/beginning century XIV for Owner Vetaça/Betaça Lescaris. It is a modest construction, of one alone ship, but one becomes quickly in a destination of intense peregrination. Perhaps in share of favours for the success of the trip to India, Vasco da Gama decides, in 1529, to rebuild the root building, giving to it a huger scale. The Order of Santiago, in conflict with Vasco of Gamma, does not see with good eyes the rebuilding, Dom Jorge de Lencastre determines that the change is not concluded, ordering that confrades extended the primitive temple. Despite the authority of the master, the order was not respected. Concluded the ermida one, with evidentes manuelinos traces, two tablets had been placed next to the vestibule that strengthen the position of Gama: "This House of Ours Lady of the Rooms ordered to make magnificent Mr. Dom Vasco of Gama very, Conde da Vidigueira, Admiral and Vice-king of India".

Beautiful contrast btween these three elements of sky, sea and stucture! The comosition is super. you cropped it on all the right places.
