[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
It isn't a real castle and Montezuma was never here! This is an impressive 5 story , 20 room Cliff Dwelling that served as a "high-rise apartment building" for prehistoric Sinagua Indians over 600 years ago. It is one of the best preserved cliff dwellings in North America and is high above the flood plains of Beaver Creek in the Vedte Valley of Sedona, AZ. The "Castle" was abandoned a century before the Aztec Emperor, Montezuma, was even born.

Photo has been cropped, resized, framed and sharpened using Digital Image Suite 9.

I am new and anxious to learn, so please comment or critiique and I will appreciate it.

Your composition is very good, John. But I think the colours are rather flat, and the castle is not too sharp. I tried a WS.

Hi Muffled... Your use of the trees and limbs to frame your subject is to be commended. I like the subject and the composition.

The trees in the foreground gives it a nice touch to the composition. The colours are a bit pale. Do you have a post processing program. Photoshop works well, and the colours can be saturated.
I like the frame you made. Good job.

I enjoyed your informative note although the photo title seems misleading. But the photo is well composed and framed. There is sufficient detail for a viewer to appreciate.

Very well composed, impressive image of an unusual structure, nice natural colors, bravo!
