one of the famous Bruges' canals...

definitely not original but we have to admit that snow is quite rare in Bruges shots :o)

I had to go for an interview and i got with my small Sony ... I've spent a year studying in Bruges so for me each come back is sentimentally intense :o) the camera was a must in case that ... just for a couple of shots as I knew I would be in a hurry ...
To my surprise Bruges was wearing its white dress ... while in Brussels the weather was extremely cold but no snow.
Too bad that I had the interview and needed to go back to Brussels ASAP ... :o(

ps: ooouuupsss ... i forgot to mention that this is in fact a shot taken in colour mode ... with my small Sony i hadn't much options ... no, there's no PP, i haven't turned it to b&w ... the result is 100% natural ... a gift of the snow and the foggy light :o)

thank you, my town of birth, very emotional to see it like this, thanx, (*_*)

Nice POV, Ilianna. A classic composition, but here the subdued light gives it a special touch. Great image!

Calm and quiet, reminds me of the lines "... all passion spent". Milton's line when Samson achieves peace in the poetic play "Samson Agonistes". Fine images, Ili.

Hi Ilianna,

Fantastic photo!!!
The cold and peaceful atmosphere is beautifully presented here. I like the calm frozen water that looks like a mirror.
Excellent composition!

Can't believe you haven't converted it to b/w. I notice the blue on the top right corner.

The exposure bias towards the shadows give the trees character, to remind us its winter.

Good shot.
