[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was as far back as in the winter of 1982. We had gone to visit 'Santiniketan' (the Abode of Peace) - the University of Viswabharati - established by Rabindranath Thakur. Every winter, a large fair named the 'Poushmela' to celebrate the harvesting of the new crop is held in Santiniketan.
I noticed this tree far out on a field as soon as we settled down in the small house loaned to us by a friend. Next morning I woke up early and with the 200 mm I had, I took this photo. It was very far away and there were lots of other trees around. I cropped to get the composition.
The camera was Asahi Pentax Spotmatic II. Do not remember the exposure. The original negative was scanned. The contrast was pushed up a lot. Some shadows were added. Cloned and smudged away spots accumulated on negative over the years.

Beautiful picture, Salil, that reminds me of a Japanese painting. Great composition with the tree & the big sun above it. I love your treatment that makes it even more dreamy. Very artistic creation. Well done!

A very artistic posting from you. I like the long format and the composition is spot on. Your PP work makes it good enough to hang it on the wall.Very beautiful indeed. TFS

I like a lot as you managed it, the long vertical frame and grain and the colours you choised give a special mood.
Very well seen,congrats
Edie
