Great shot from Italy. Awesome composition and lighting with great sharpness/contrast.
Really enjoy the contrast here. It just pops off the screen and has great dimensionality to it....maybe more ways than one :O).
Excellent vision and time of day for this shot. Very nicely done!

Nice to be critiquing one of your shots again and glad things seem to be working out in Italy.

As much as I love the softness of your portrait shots I like the high contrast on this one!! The tiny sharp details makes it almost graphic like! Definitely the B&W gives it a much different mood than the original colour version!

Wonderful angle to shoot; just ignoring the long lines; like a portait taken aside.
NIce double entrance from left and to the right.
To the right you cropped 1/2 cm too much, I believe.

I'm a colour guy, so I prefer the colour version, Ayda... of the gate, that is. In the colour version the port blends in with the background too much. On the other hand, I think the gate in b&w isn't that beautiful. So, I think I'd have selected the background and had converted only that to b&w, leaving the gate in colour... What do you think ?

Very good architectural shot Ayda. When I see it in black and white it reminds me of the days when that was the only type of film I could buy, then afterwards everybody went crazy for the coloured film. I still admire black and white for certain subjects. This is one of them. I like the composition, but I think it would have been better if you showed more of the entrance to the arch. This way I could see where people walk through to get their good luck. That's only my choice, but I'm sure you like this point of view. Maybe take one of each view. I looked at the workshop version, and that too looks good in colour, a rather warm version.

I like you presented it in B&W. It looks more impressive that way. And i like the title you gave it, hope this legend is true; then you both lucky to passed there ;)

Very nicely composed, and the B&W is definitely the right way to go. The color version is nice, but this is much more dramatic.
