Your cat please me... I take the liberty to make something look like a printing of old time...
For this time i decide to work with Nikon Capture 4. That pack have a good remover for the noise. I even abuse a little. But it simulate the oldies... I boost the contrast and turn the tones like a sepia but with blue eyes increase.
A mood darker then the orignal...
I return to Photoshop for applying an Unsharp mask to give a good bit of precision even the "oldies" aspect :)

First I played with the levels to add contrast, then I dodged the background around the ears and at the right for the cat to pop out a bit more. Then I ran through NeatImage to reduce the noise, then sharpened edges two notches. Hope you like it!

I just did a few minor tweaks to this image. I put into lab color & sharpened the lightness channel on just the eyes & part of the hair & kitten. I applied a blur to the a & b channels to reduce noise. With an adjustment layer, I slightly slid the top of the a channel (yellow) to take out the blue in the hand & kitten. Slightly moved the lightness channes to increase the shadows. with a new layer in overlay mode, I added a moon in the iris of the eye to give more depth. Hope you done mind & like this.
