| Intro: | I am 48 years old and have just bought my first digital camera last year after borrowing my sons on holiday. I enjoy Treklens and would welcome all comments both positive and negative about composition, subjects, editing etc as I am a complete beginner. I bought a Nikon D80 camera with a Nikkor AF-S 18-135mm lens and have now added a Nikkor AF-S VR 70–300mm. Have been using Treklens for almost 2 months now and find the critiques very helpful. Find looking at other people’s photos an education, especially seeing the settings that have been used for particular shots. Also enjoy viewing other people’s workshops and seeing the improvements that can be made. Please feel free to upload any workshops of my pictures as I am interested in the way you would change them, I will not be offended as I am here to learn. OK here is the old man part of me coming out, I have read on a few members sites that they will not comment on photographs without notes. When I first joined I thought this was being disrespectful to members and I would comment on any photograph. After using Treklens for a month I totally agree with this point of view, many times I have looked at a thumbnail of a photograph and been disappointed that there are no notes about it, why go to the effort of taking a beautiful photograph that you like and want to share with members and not put on a few lines of text either about where / why you took or like the photograph. I have started trying to group my photographs, here are my first groupings, just click on the title to view.
