![Title: The truth about John [1] The truth about John [1]](http://i1.treklens.com/photos/659/john-evzone-12934_tl_s_.jpg) The truth about John [1] | Dingo
(11717) [2008-06-08 13:45:56] [2] [+] | A couple of posts ago, John, you mentioned you couldn't possibly be an evzone because you're too short.
Can you imagine my amazement when I came home and looked at the shots I took during the changing of the guards?
I'll post a closer look in a couple of minutes ;o) |

(11717) [2008-06-05 10:17:26] [2] | ...he was there too, John ☺^☺.
He seems to have exchanged some of the equipment with his companion, but made one mistake: the legionnaires carried their gladius on the right hand side... So far for authenticity ☺ |

 Stray dogs | Dingo
(11717) [2008-05-31 11:35:38] | When we were waiting for our friends near the fountain at Syntagma square, we saw these stray dogs.
The collar means they have been sterilised and have been registered by the municipal authorities. |

 Dimming the highlights | Dingo
(11717) [2008-05-26 13:49:02] [1] | Hi Jan
As explained in my crit, I find the highlights a bit too bright, especially on the ground.
In Cs3, I used the shadows/highlights tool: S 0, H +35. Basically, this dims all highlights whilst leaving the darker areas of the shot unaltered. |

 Straightening... | Dingo
(11717) [2008-05-25 04:54:30] | ...the uniform. As the evzones themselves are apparently not allowed to move (except for breathing and blinking their eyes every once in a while) another soldier has to straighten their uniform after they have moved to another position.
As you can see, the Presidential guard consists of GIANT soldiers! They really are impressive. |

 More uniforms... | Dingo
(11717) [2008-05-24 07:32:22] | The officers are saluting the Unknown Soldier while the platoons of Evzones stand at attention.
On the left you see the soldiers' outfit, to their right we have the Cretan version of the ceremonial uniform, then you see a captain in the officer's version of the outfit. Officers wear a scimitar instead of a rifle, their foustanella is longer than those of the soldiers, and they wear boots.
In between the Evzones you can spot "regular" service dress. |
