as I found the dogs too bright and the snow without much details, I made 2 layers of the photo without the frame, on the first one I added contrast clarify 13, then lowered the layer intensityu to 42, on the second layer I only selected the dogs with the lasso and a feather of about 10, then blended the layer in multiply,lowered the intensity at 49.
I do hope those tricks can help you in the future?
