With Corel Photo Paint X3 I cropped, used the lasso tool and changed the background. Adjusted the contrast, highlight and sharpness. Added border and frame.

A 1-minute quick fix.
Sergio, when you restore pictures, why not add a sky from your archives. With the free programm PhotoFiltre comes a possibility to use the transparent option - here I chose to make the colour white 100% transparent, and just Edit Copy/Edit Paste the whole thing on top of a sky, this immediately sets of the earthy colourtones of your street.
Of course after this you can work on the tiny details with the clone stamp set on different % of opacity, to create a real life feeling....
